It is with great pleasure that we invite all fellow capoeristas in the valley and all around the world to our Fifth Batizado e Troca de cordas Topázio Arizona, which will take place on October 17 to 20 in Chandler, Az, USA.
The ceremony of Batizado and Troca de Corda (Baptism and exchange of cords), is time for the students to show everything they have learnt through the year to earn their first cord. For the more experience students, it’s time to keep learning and growing within the world of capoeira until they are ready to earn their new cord.
We invite all capoeristas in the valley and around the United states to join us with positive energy in our workshops, Rodas and Troca de corda of Grupo Topazio Arizona.
Rodas and Workshops will be held at the CHANDLER MARTIAL ART CENTER located at 1992 N. Alma School Rd, Chandler, Az.
Participation on Sunday's Open Roda is free of charge, however, we would like to ask our guest to bring new Toys or Blankets to support our traditional toy drive to the children's hospital. Cash donations are also welcome to help us work around the event expenses.
Workshops and other events will be open to all groups and levels. Agenda and cost is still under construction and it will be release in the coming months.
finally a few notes to show our respect and courtesy to our guest Mestres:
1. All capoeristas must wear white pant and capoeira shirt to participate in workshops and rodas. Students without uniform can bring any white sweat pants and non-stamped shirts to the workshops, but only capoeristas with full abada will be able to participate during the Batizado ceremony.
2. Please note, out of respect to Mestre and all our guests, it will not be possible to participate in the events in shorts.
All people planning to come from out of state, please send us information of when and how many people will be coming, in order to try to look for free place to stay. Please use the "Contac-us" from in this site, or contact Professor Kino directly.
